Movements can be modified for any fitness level from beginner to advanced. No dance, barre, pound, yoga or pilates experience is required unless specifically stated in the class description.
MAPLE BARRE (SIGNATURE) & Barre Express
Using a variety of movements developed from Pilates, Yoga, and Ballet, our Barre classes are designed to burn maximum amount of calories, tone the entire body, and improve strength, flexibility, and coordination. This full body workout utilizes a 37″ fixed Ballet Barre and small props. The studio provides 1 – 4 pound weights, fitness balls, and resistance bands along with inspiring and energetic dance music for every class. Wondering why we call this the Maple Barre? Before the North-end streets were numerically zoned, “28th” use to be called Maple Street. We wanted to commemorate the name to keep the history connected to this beautiful space. (60 minutes) Barre Express is a condensed version of this class running 45 minutes.
MAPLE BBARRELESS & BBARRELESS EXPRESS
bbarreless is a fusion style class with a true foundation of Pilates performed to the beat of the music. You will experience a mind body connection fused with dance, Pilates and Yoga. bbarreless is about connecting your mind to the body, so that you not only strive to move with precision but also have FUN. Classic barre exercises have been adapted to be performed in the center of the room either standing or on the floor. You will challenge the core for balance and total body proprioception. Dancers have performed floor barre for generations as it allows them to explore new movements and gives them the strength to move with elegance and ease utilizing the floor for support. Be prepared, this is a full-on amazing workout! (60 minutes) bbarreless Express is a condensed version of this class running 45 minutes.
TABATA - HIIT
This short duration, but high intensity interval training (HIIT) class creates a prolonged afterburn, or EPOC (excess post oxygen consumption). This type of training causes the body to take longer to return to its state of rest, so it continues to burn calories (5x more) at a higher rate long after the workout session has completed. Classes consists of 30 minute, 20 second intense intervals followed by 10 seconds of rest. Movement can range from cardio to core work but is sure to give you a sweat and burn. The last 15 minutes might consist of yoga, pilates or slower core work. The results with microburst workouts are backed by research.. you will feel amazing and strong within the first few classes. Similar to the Maple Barre, this class incorporates a more creative edge on balance and strength. Mindful movement creates a fluidity focusing on abdominal strengthening, flexibility, and muscle toning. Exercise bands, Pilates rings and/or blocks are integrated to add resistance work for a quick and efficient burn. Depending on the instructor, this class works something unique each time. We recommend taking several Maple Barre classes to learn foundation movements before taking this class. (60 minutes)

POWER PARTY SCULPT
This is an original dance class born out of Celeste’s mission to facilitate dance as a movement practice accessible to everyone. PPS reminds us it is OK to have FUN, and our bodies have a natural rhythm just begging to sweat for joy on a dance floor! Repeated choreography is crafted by to specific songs (think Gaga, Janet, Beyonce, Madge, etc.), some of which repeat for up to eight weeks. The idea is you learn the steps and then stop thinking about them—as in, get out of your head and into your body. Part of the class may also be natural movement that flows organically with the feeling of the class. (60 minutes)
Yoga flow is designed to help you stretch and strengthen your muscles, release stress, and relax your mind. Practice incorporates breath work, holding postures, core strengthening, and massage. This sequence moves with a steady rhythm and flow challenging the body to work deeply from the center. Each class will finish with a short meditation and cool down. This is a balancing class that is appropriate for all levels. (60 minutes)
This dynamic class works to connect movement with breath. Our instructors move you through mindful postures to stretch, strengthen, and realign through the core and spine. This is a beautiful class for coming out of a stressful day or needing to reconnect with your true self, breath and body. Mark’s Yoga is appropriate for all levels and can be modified for limited range of motion or injuries. (60 minutes)
Pure Pilates is rhythmic sequencing for all levels of fitness. The class focuses on the development of core strength, flexibility, and coordination. Small props are used to increase resistance, deepen muscle movement, and provide variations on classical exercises. (60 minutes)
Get ready to get sweaty! This high-energy dance class will be the most fun you’ve had working out. The class begins with a groovy warm up to connect our bodies to the beat, followed by learning a choreographed sequence. The purpose of this class is to build confidence and empowerment through movement by doing whatever feels most natural and blissful in YOUR unique body! Dance experience is helpful but never required. This class is appropriate for 16 and over. Come ready to work, but most importantly come to have a great time and connect with others. (60 minutes)
Welcome to kids Hip-Hop at 28th! Each week, this class focuses on basic dance skills like keeping rhythm, following choreography and developing body control. This class helps develop confidence, basic performance skills such as stage presence, acting, and self-improvisation. All music is kid-friendly, positive and easy to move to. Throughout the session the students work as a team to create original performance pieces for family and friends which will showcase all of their hard-earned talents and abilities once per season. This is an excellent choice as a child’s first dance class. (60 minutes)
Build was designed as a modern day 'bootcamp' simulating sports movements related to swimming, paddle boarding, skiing, and running with the intention to improve mobility, strength, endurance, and power. The class combines ground based exercises with elements from various body weight training disciplines to create a fun, challenging workout experience. The sequence starts with classical calisthenics, moves into high intensity intervals of sports movements with weights, and ends with a juicy flexi-stretchy session. There are light weights / bands to start and the class builds on your strength the more you attend. All athletes are welcome to practice and play. (60 minutes)
This class is a beautiful, challenging combination of pilates and yoga focused on dynamic stretching and working the core. The flow is set to music and mostly on the mat. Balls, bands, and rings might be used to enhance and deepen the class experience. Class will rotate with in with pure pilates on several days during the class month.
